AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am FanDuel Report

This week’s PGA Tour tournament brings us to Pebble Beach, CA, host of the AT&T Pro-Am. Get ready and brace yourselves because this is another multi-course tournament, with yet another cut after 54 holes for the top 60 (and ties) golfers. Because of this, the strategy will change a bit when it comes to selecting your player pool because you don’t have much of an advantage advancing all of your golfers through the cut. So, you’ll have to get a bit creative, think outside of the box, and take some chances on players you may not normally play due to standard formats. What I’m going to do is provide you with some plays at each price tier for both Cash and GPP (under 10 percent owned), but before I do that let’s take a look at the courses these folks will be playing this week.

Pebble Beach, Par 72, 6,816 yards, Poa Greens

Spyglass Hill, Par 72, 6,960 yards, Poa Greens

Monterey Peninsula, Par 71, 6,958 yards, Poa Greens

And now, let’s check out the plays:

$10k+

Cash: Brandt Snedeker - $11,200:

Snedeker is checking so many boxes I had to put him in this spot. Over his last 24 rounds, he ranks 10th in SG: ARG, third in Scrambling, and third in Bogeys Avoided. He’s also fourth in SG: P (Poa) over his last 100 rounds. In four of his last five appearances here, he has a T20, fourth, T35, and first-place finish. His recent form also checks out finishing with a T3 at The AmEx and a T12 at the Tournament of Champions.

GPP: Kevin Kisner - $10,100:

Kisner is someone that you can play in both Cash and GPP, and gain some leverage on the field due to his low projected ownership. He finished T28 last year, and then T10 in 2017. He also started the season very hot, collecting three top 15 finishes at the Tournament of Champions, the Hero, and RSM. For stats, he’s ninth in SG: APP and 13th in SG: P (Poa).

Pivot: Phil Mickelson - $10,800

Fade: Cameron Champ - $10,000

$9k+

Cash: Adam Hadwin - $9,900:

Adam Hadwin is projected to have the highest ownership in the $9k range, but he also grades out as one of the top options. He ranks in the top 50 in SG: APP, SG: ARG, and Scrambling. He’s also in the top 15 in Bogeys Avoided, GIRs Gained, and SG: P (Poa). Last year, he finished T18 in this tournament.

GPP: Patrick Rodgers - $9,100:

Rodgers has been playing really well lately. He finished T16 at The Farmers last week and T9 the week before at The AmEx. In this tournament, he was T8 in 2018. He putts well on Poa greens, ranking 33rd among the field over his last 100 rounds. He’s also eighth in Scrambling, and 20th in SG: P5 over his last 24 rounds.

Pivot: Jim Furyk - $9,600

Fade: Vaughn Taylor - $9,400

$8k+

Cash: Jimmy Walker - $8,700:

Walker doesn’t have fantastic stats coming into the week, though he is 17th in SG: APP and sixth in SG: P (Poa). He’s had some struggles scrambling, but his stats around the green and also in greens in regulation are good enough to help make some birdies. What I really like is his course history at Pebble Beach. Three of his last five appearances, he finished T8, T11, and T21.

GPP: Cameron Tringale - $8,500:

Cameron burned me last week, but I’m giving him another shot (unlike Lanto). His recent form and course history aren’t anything to write home about (a couple of top 50 finishes in each category), but he’s checking the boxes over a lot of other guys in this range. He’s seventh in SG: APP, 18th in Scrambling, 11th in Bogeys Avoided, sixth in Prox (100-125), and 21st in SG: P (Poa).

Pivot: Matthew NeSmith - $8,400

Fade: Keith Mitchell - $8,600

$7k+

Cash: Luke Donald - $7,200:

He’s fifth in SG: ARG, 13th in Prox (100-125), and 17th in SG: P (Poa). He finished T23 in 2017 and then T26 in 2016.

GPP: Steve Stricker - $7,400

Second in SG: ARG, 42nd in Prox (100-125), and 41st in SG: P (Poa). The latter two aren’t great, but they are above average and I’ll take the for this price range. He has missed his last two cuts this year, but he has some decent course history here with a T26 in 2018 and T23 in 2017.

Pivot: Johnson Wagner - $7,000

Fade: N/A
