NFL Week 1 Dynasty Fantasy Football Trade Targets

This weekend starts the 2019 NFL season and over the last few days, there was a lot of movement in the NFL.

Some of these moves have made some sort of impact on us fantasy footballers so let's jump into some trades that could benefit you in 2019.

Melvin Gordon

It's going to be tough to actually trade Melvin Gordon away and find decent value unless you are a good salesman. Gordon's contract situation is a mess and now it appears that Gordon will sit out a number of games this season.

Your best bet is to find a team that has little to nothing at the RB position. Sell the fact that Gordon rushed for 10 touchdowns last season and is a year removed from a 1,000 yard rushing season. Also throw in the fact that he is still only 26 years old and has some prime years left.

I would try and target players like Kerryon Johnson or maybe if you're lucky a Dalvin Cook. You can sell the fact that Cook has been injury prone and hopefully that fantasy player will decide to take the bait. Not only should you be seeking players but picks as well. A first round pick plus a player should do the trick. Try not to sell too low though as Gordon is still a good RB and will eventually come back.

Duke Johnson Jr.

It really pains me to say this as I am not a fan of Duke Johnson but in fantasy, it’s about who is starting and right now Johnson is the starting RB for the Houston Texans. Johnson should be had on the cheap unless you're dealing with an owner who literally has nothing at the RB position.

Johnson is on most benches and many owners would probably deal him for an intriguing package. You will have to get creative on this one if you plan on trading for him. A mid level player like maybe a WR like Emmanuel Sanders or Curtis Samuel and a pick would get the trade done. Remember to buy on the fact that he has never rushed for 1,000 and never had double digit touchdowns.

If your selling Johnson sell on the fact that he is now in Houston with Dashaun Watson instead of Cleveland where he didn’t really have a QB outside the one year with Baker Mayfield. There is nothing but air and opportunity in front of Duke. It’s what he will do it with it which will define his role in fantasy football for 2019.

Jarvis Landry

Here’s a WR that gets some love, just not a whole lot. With having 130 plus targets the last four years, Landry should be a solid option again to produce in fantasy football. Odell Beckham Jr. is now in Cleveland as well and that should help open up Landry more with having defenses focus the majority of their game plan on Beckham.

Landry could be had on the cheap, you either hate or love Landry. He is the ultimate PPR WR in PPR Dynasty leagues but if you are the ones that dislike Landry it’s probably because he isn’t a show stealer and have double digit touchdowns. Now paired with Baker Mayfield and Beckham, Landry should eat again in 2019.

I would offer a few guys like Telvin Coleman, Tarik Cohen, or possibly a QB like Sam Darnold for Landry. The last four years Landry has 4,038 receiving yards with 22 touchdowns. Trading for Landry is a no brainer, Landry is a solid WR2 or WR3 addiction to any team for 2019.
